Les Bords de la Seine (16" x 12.5")

A stunning post impressionist original watercolor painted in the mid 1900’s.  This is classic post impressionist style with skilled brushstrokes and superb use of color.  Starting with dark browns on the lower left, your eye moves thru the blue/greens of the Seine and up thru the burnt oranges and beiges of the trees, to a cloudy gray and pale blue sky.  The movement is excellent as are the color highlights.  We love the impressions and the figure carrying goods to or from a boat on the left. A superb painting.

We have carefully double matted it in pale white – it only needs to slip into a frame. Carefully double matted with a generous border which shows off the painting to their fullest.

Condition: some subtle marks on the painting. Overall very good condition.
